The Ball Valve is the most used valve for intercepting or connecting media in industry and pipelines. Faced with such a large amount of use, the valve price is generally more expensive. How can we improve the working efficiency of the ball valve and save the cost, and extend the service life of the ball valve? It is more analytically valuable. So what method can be used to extend the service life of the ball valve? The technical engineer of the famous brand GVP summarized the following solutions for reference only:
(1) Before the ball valve is used, it must be checked for debris or iron filings in the valve. The ball valve needs to be cleaned with water.
(2) When performing maintenance, the ball valve must be in the closed state (electric or pneumatic ball valve needs to be disconnected from the power supply or air supply). After the valve is closed, there will be residual medium and a certain pressure in the valve body. The valve can be repaired only after the pressure is released.
(3) There are two types of seals used in ball valves: generally hard seals and soft seals, which are made of metal welding and tetrafluoroethylene. When dismantling, you need to carefully damage the seal ring to prevent leakage. It is recommended to use special tools to operate.
(4) Matters needing attention when cleaning the ball valve: prevent chemical reaction, rust and corrosion of Valve Parts due to cleaning. General parts can be rinsed with clean water. The dust and dirt on the surface of the parts should be cleaned. Alcohol can be used but the parts being cleaned must not be damaged. (Know the characteristics of the various parts of the ball valve and choose the appropriate Detergent);
(5). The bolts and nuts are skillful during maintenance of the flanged ball valve. It needs to be fixed first and then all the nuts are firmly fixed one by one.
(6). If there is a slight leakage at the packing during use, you can tighten the nut of the valve stem slightly, not too tight.
(7) If the ball valve is used outdoors, it will cause the valve to rust for a long time. As far as possible, the ball valve should be protected by measures such as waterproof, moisture-proof and rain-proof.
